OUR STORY
From American Samoa to Samoa, our story is rooted in family, opportunity, community and the vision to build something meaningful for the people of our islands.
WHERE IT BEGAN
In 1999, McDonald's American Samoa became the beginning of our local McDonald's story.
From the beginning, the restaurant represented more than a place to enjoy familiar McDonald's favourites. It became part of the community — creating employment, developing people and becoming part of the everyday lives of families across American Samoa.
At the heart of that journey was the vision of Tautolo Agaoleatu Charlie Tautolo.
FRANCHISEE • VISIONARY
Charlie's vision for McDonald's in our islands was about more than growing a successful restaurant business.
It was about creating opportunities for local people, building careers, supporting families and creating a business that could contribute to the communities it served.
The people who joined the restaurants — from crew beginning their first jobs to managers and long-serving employees — became part of a wider family.
That family became our McAiga.
OUR JOURNEY
From the beginning of McDonald's American Samoa to the growth of our McAiga across two islands, our story has been shaped by vision, service and the communities we serve.
